In some cultures, especially the Chinese culture, jade is so highly revered that it holds an important traditional and spiritual place even today for the Chinese and is known as China jade. The Chinese jade is worn by many for its mystical and spiritual properties in different shapes such jade necklaces or jade bangles etc.

Two primary varieties of jade are known to exist i.e. the jadeite and nephrite which differ in some properties such as hardness, colour and attractiveness. However, the jadeite is harder and has dark shades as compared to the nephrite variety. Both the jadeite and nephrite are referred to as the china jade. Jade is considerably harder than a lot of gemstones and is much more durable. This is why the Chinese have ascribed great qualities to the jade stone. The jade stands as a symbol of spirituality, grace, elegance, morality, honesty, and the highest attributes that make up a man. It also stands for love and virtue and beauty of the spirit. The hardness and durability of jade are responsible for the ease with which it can take up any shape
and size. This property is used to produce the various articles of jewellery that are found in jewellery shops around the world and is the reason why Jade bangles, necklaces, pendants, rings are worn the world over. Moreover, each jewellery article made from jade has special symbolic significance attached to it. For instance jade bangles and rings are used as gifts to mark love and romantic association.
However, since jade is quite expensive, it requires special care and one must enquire
how to best take care of their jade jewellery items and use accordingly. Moreover, because of its costly nature, one must make sure that the jade is of the highest quality and pure before purchasing because jade is not just a stone, and is much more valuable for its mystical qualities.
